Opening a printer driven cashdrawer is a function that is performed in the print driver. The driver for the XR500 series thermal printer is available on the manufacturer's website here: Windows Driver
After downloading and installing the driver, you will want to confirm that the open drawer function is enabled.

1. On the start menu, open Devices and Printers (Printers and faxes on WindowsXP and older)
2. Right-click on the POS-X Thermal Printer
