FAQ# 2405: Why does my Socket Scanner not pair to my Windows computer?

Socket Mobile Scanners, in order to work with Windows, requires the installation of the Socket Mobile Companion App onto the Windows PC. In order to pair successfully with Windows, you must install the app, run the app as an Administrator, and start the setup process within the app. Once you begin the setup process, you will need to scan the setup barcodes on steps 2 and 3 in the app, and then pair the scanner in Windows (should show up now as a pairable device). Once Windows shows connected on the Socket Scanner, go back into the Companion App, and select Wedge. This is where you can dictate an Enter Key function in the suffix field.
