The feature-packed MS9520 is a triggerless, auto-sensing barcode scanner, automatically detecting the barcode within range.
If manual trigger functionality is preferred, select the MS9540 with Metrologic’s patented CodeGate technology. CodeGate allows the user to activate a button that keeps the beam in use, allowing continuous scanning. The MS9540's trigger mode puts control back in the hands of the user, activating the laser beam only when the trigger is pushed.

Liked: We don t need to press a button to get it to scan.
Did not like: I know there are a million options for alternate forms of UPC codes, but since I think most people use the same few codes I think the options for UPC generic codes could be more easily explained.
Additional Info: Works very well once you understand the distance it is pre-set to work at 6 in., but you can change it to scan at 6 in. and less if you want and once we added in a redundant scan to avoid mis-scans. Happily, it can be dropped and will still work!

Liked: Auto sense scan, no driver requirement and excellent reads.
Did not like: Some kind of lid to cover while not in use. Dust accumulates.
Additional Info: Excellent value for the price. Best reads and really fast reads. Would recommend for normal use in POS environments.
