The MagTek Centurion card reader gives your business a secure method to capture and read credit card data. When programmed by your credit card processing company, the Centurion uses Triple DES encryption to send the information to the processor. Even if the data is intercepted by a third party, they will not be able to do anything with it.
The Centurion was designed to be the one card reader you'll need for quite some time. By default, the reader sends data unencrypted, allowing you to process cards even if your software or processing company doesn't yet support encryption. Once they do, the Centurion can be remotely programmed by your processing company to send encrypted data, saving you from having to buy a new reader or send yours out for configuration.
