Cash Drawer

A POS cash drawer simply holds your cash, checks and credit card slips, but not all drawers are created equally. Important buying considerations include material, construction, and connectivity options.

Our cash drawers can be classified three ways: medium duty, heavy duty and manual operation. Medium duty drawers are usually made with light weight steel, offering durability at an affordable price. Our most popular and highly recommended medium-duty drawer is the POS-X Xc16Z. Heavy duty drawers are usually made from cold rolled steel and provide excellent security and reliability, like the MMF cash drawer or the APG cash drawer.

A drawer will generally connect to either your receipt printer (most common) or directly to your computer. Various interface cables are required to connect a drawer to a receipt printer, so be sure to talk to one of our sales reps or our help desk to determine which is right for you. If you are not connecting the cash drawer to a POS computer, we also offer manual drawers designed to stand alone such as the APG manual cash drawer.
