Wax ribbons are preferred for use that is strictly indoors, they are not designed to handle the extremes of outdoor weather. Resin ribbons operate in almost every environment (make sure you get label media that withstands harsh environments) but are as a result more expensive than wax. We recommend using the wax resin combinations for use in barcode printing. They offer more durable printing than wax ribbons at a more affordable price than the resin ribbons.
