FAQ# 2181: Can you open a cash drawer in Store Manager, without the printer?

Answer

Unfortunately, the only supported cash drawers that will open within Store Manager, are printer driven cash drawers or serial cash drawers. For the printer driven models there is a cable attached between the cash drawer, and the printer. The printer needs to be turned on/functioning in order for the drawer to pop open. With serial drawers, the drawer is directly connected to the computer via serial cable.
