FAQ# 978: How to get the scanner to have an AIMING dot?

There are configuration barcodes you can scan to enable the aiming dot on the LS3408 barcode scanner. In the LS3408 product reference guide, under Trigger Mode settings in the User Preferences section (4-7), there are configuration barcodes. Scan either Option 1 or Option 2 depending on what trigger mode you want for the aim dot.

For scanners other than the LS3408 with an aiming dot option, configuration should be fairly similar. Consult your product rerference guide or user manual for the particular configuration options, likely under user preferences and usually in the same section as the configuration for the scan beep tone.
